This was a very challenging story in a lot of ways. A reason I want people to read & share it is because it is, IMO, about more than one person. More than one network. It’s about the culture of television. None of the fired showrunners I've ever written about existed in a vacuum.

For each story I do in this arena, I talk to so many thoughtful, creative people. This is not about them being unable to meet high standards. This is *not* about that. This is about having workplaces where basic respect & professionalism are the norm. That's not too much to ask.

Been debating whether to tweet what's in next tweet. I don't want it to come across as self-aggrandizing, and I KNOW how much more work remains in MANY Hollywood institutions/workplaces. But this cheered me a bit, and I want to share it with you, in case it cheers you a bit too.

MacGyver began production on a new season this week. Everything I hear about the atmosphere/showrunner is much improved. Change should not have taken so long to arrive, nor shd it have cost so many so much. But. The bravery of the communities at those shows made change happen.
