If you defund the police, units fighting these crimes will be cut before the street cops that you’re against. Think about the consequences.
My neighbor works on a regional police task force dealing with this. She said during lockdown there has been a seven-fold spike in investigations. Partially has to do with more people home “noticing” neighbors, but also the sickos have a lot more free time.

General police funding aside though - many departments have to be fixed and refocused on these types of crimes. Some have been actually complicit in this.
