This is Winston. He’s a stray cat who lives in the vacant house next door.
We feed him probably more than we should and he patrols our house. He follows me around when I do yard work.
I sat down to write this morning and he came to join me.
Scout and Valkyrie named him Winston. No idea why.

Winston has again joined me for my morning writing. We’re talking about getting him to a vet. @surliestgirl, is there anything that says I couldn’t make him an indoor cat with my other boys?

Winston was waiting for me at the back door this morning.
He is straight up the sloppiest eater.
We’ve made a vet appointment. He’ll get all the care he needs. If he gets a clean bill of health, he’s coming inside to meet his new cat brothers, Cornelius and Lando.
He’s waiting on the front porch, meowing to come in. His vet appointment can’t come soon enough.
I’ll be honest, I’m pretty worried about Winston. His vet appointment is tomorrow and I haven’t seen him all day. Let’s hope he’s back by morning...

Guess who got all of his shots, a clean bill of health, and an appointment to get fixed!
Winston is relegated to the bathroom for the time being, until he gets used to being inside and acclimated to Cornelius and Lando... he found a comfy napping spot in the towels...
He’s purring sooooo loud.

We’ve moved Winston from a residency in the bathroom to my bedroom today, to see how he acclimates to different spaces. He’s really loved sleeping in the closet.
Unexpected behavior today: he pulled a food wrapper from the waste basket and brought it in the closet to lick the food remnants from.
I sort of forgot he was a stray and would exhibit behavior of this kind.

I’d wager this is his first time laying on a bed.
And he’s getting along really well with Cornelius in small bursts of supervised exposure.

He really likes being held. I had to give him extra cuddles this morning. He’s on his way to be fixed.

He slept in my bed all night with me because he is a badass.
He is in a lethally playful mood.

He really likes hunting under the covers....
