(793-814), turned to the South and made Pallav to wither.
Another great Rashtrakut king was Amoghvarsh I
who later became prefrred religion and litrature over war. He was authur of great poetic Kannad book Kavirajmarga. Amoghvarsh I was great patron of women empowerment, his daughter Chandravallabhi was admin and protector of Raichur.
After death of Amoghvarsh,Indra III, grandson
Grandson of Amoghvarsh catured kannauj by defeating Mahipal
Bet 915-927.Indra became very powerful.Most of the Indian rulers accpeted his suzerainty.
Krishna III was last amongst brilliant rulers. He defeatrd Chol king Prantak in 949 and took over northen part of Chol Empire
Victory in Rameshwaram and buit a temple there. After his death all the opponent got united and burnt the Rashtrakut capital Malakhed, lead to end of this great Empire.
Rashtrakuts were great patron of art and litrature. The famous rock cut temple of Shiv at ellora was made by
Krishna I in 9th century. Rashtrakuts were tolerent with religions, along with Shaivism they patroninsed Vaishnavism and Jainism as well. They also permitted Islam to be preached in their domination,as they had active trade with Arabs.
Rashtrakuts were strict with laws and order
And made hierarchy of admins. Their Dharmshstra included Ved, Nitishashtra and Arthshashtra. They made units of admins who were called Koshpal, Deshmukh, Deshpande etc.
Rashtrakuts were total democracy where everyone was free to live the way they wanted.
