On 20th of July, That's tomorrow, falls one of the two Auspicious Amavasyas in the Hindu Calendar..
Aadi Amavasya, Amavasya which comes in the Kataka month, or The amavasya that comes after Kataka Sankranthi.

Our festivals start with Aadi Amavasya , festivals for Humans celebrating god, and Ends with Thai Amavasya, or Amavasya which falls in the month of Malara month or Amavasya that comes after Makara Sankranti.

After that Amavasya, we get festivals for god, to pray and Thank
Shivratri, Ram Navami, Chaitra navratri and Ends with Akshay Trithya.
it is believed that our ancestors come down to earth on Aadi Amavasya and stay with us till Thai Amavasya.

And That's why, As a Hindu, we should celebrate all Festivals in this period. and yes.. it will be yata shakthi.
We get Blessed by out ancestors, when we celebrate when they are there.

The next Full Moon or Pournima is Raksha Bandhan. We Change the Sacred thread on that day (Some Change on Vinayakar Chaturthi.

8th day from Raksha Bandan is Krishna Jayanthi/Gokulashtami.

Fourth Day after the Next New moon (Amavasya) Is Vinayakar Chaturthi
Full Moon (Pournima) Following Vinayakar Chaturthi is The beginning of Mahalaya Paksh /Pitru Paksh.
2nd Amavasya after Aadi Amavasya is Pitru Paksh Amavasya /Mahalaya Amavasya

Next Day After Pitru Paksh Amavasya is the beginning of Devi Paksh /Navaratri.
The Amavasya that falls after dusserah is Deepawali.
Its a 6 Day celebration starting From Dhana Tryodashi /Dhanavantri Tryodashi /Dhan Teras and we Prepare Deepawali medicine /marundhu at homes

Dhanteras has nothing to do with wealth, but health, medicine n it is dedicated to Lord Dhanavantri.
Then Karthik poornima, Vaikunta Ekadashi, Arudra Nakshatra, Pongal/Makara sankranti/uttarayan. then Ratha sapthami (actual day when sun god starts moving towards north

Then we Have Thai Amavasya.
All Hindu festivals are about social gathering, Meeting friends n relatives and time to feed our farmers n boost economy.
Never Shun any Festival.. celebrate in the smallest possible way.. Yatha Shakthi

After Thai Amavasya,after all celebrations for self. we have Maha Shiv Ratri, Then Shree Rama Navami, Vasant Navratri (Its actually for Vishnu) Akshaya trithya (Praying that our vessels should never be Empty so that i can feed everyone)

My request is.. Your celebrating these festivals between Aadi Amavasya and Thai Amavasya, will ensure many others celebrate these functions too.
There is a huge economy behind our festivals and that is Being targeted by the desert cults.
