people are dumb like this because our socio-economic status quo has led them to believe that it's silly and impossible for the things that help them live would be provided by the society they're enmeshed in https://twitter.com/notlivingmv/status/1284410357386219520
some of them have weird residual "pride" about how they can "provide" for things that society has created only to keep away from you,

but most just don't think it's possible or believable that you could and should get those things free of cost
what that means to me is we have a chance at explaining how these things can be, but only if we really understand it deeply ourselves

most people can't be arsed to bother, but this is the central ask of an organizer: much more than trying to tell ppl how to vote
activists activate people. organizers shouldn't be trying to "organize" their actions (which are, after all, a result of their activation) but to help them organize their thoughts, empowering them to activate themselves in the channels they are best equipped to tackle
these people don't need to be told to vote for Bernie (or whoever in the future), or be shamed into voting for Biden (or whoever in the future)—they need an easily understandable framework in which to fit this observation they're all rightfully making (ironically)
if they truly understand that the logically consistent but economically "impossible" world they're inventing, they will vote for (and volunteer, fund and fight for) the candidate of the future who has a plan to deliver that to them
