Been in Kandahar, Afghanistan which includes visiting the outer FOBs in the region, so I’ve seen my fair share of combat. Why do you guys insist I do this for a paycheck? https://twitter.com/mchooyah/status/1284675989642129408
Chaplain assistant & chaplain goes where the soldier goes. Whether it’s the main airfield, the outer FOBs or outposts. No matter of it’s safe or a zone. If our soldiers are there, we are there. I’ve been in places where 1 of the smaller camps was invaded with rocket & gun fire.
We go on convoys, experienced ambushes, IEDs and gunfire, did I kill a top terrorist target, no but I will not downplay my service or what I’ve been through for no one.
I realized I never was specific about my combat experience & if asked I have no problem in talking about it.
