Lost count of how many folks we’ve helped who @Cigna is putting in vulnerable situations due to the pandemic. You see @Cigna stops paying out insurance on scripts immediately if premium is not paid. Insurance is usually due by first day of month. If you don’t have it paid good 1)
luck getting script filled. We attempted to help someone last week who had not paid July premium yet. It was due on July 1st & on July 7th they were unable to get scripts cuz Cigna wouldn’t pay out until premium was paid. It was 6 days past the due date. We’ve called @Cigna 2)
about this numerous times and they flat out refuse to pay out on scripts for folks until they pay their premium. These are NOT premiums that are 30+ days past due. They are just a few days past the due date. Upon further research it seems to be standard procedure to pay claims 3)
for the first 30 days that one is past due. After 30 days most insurance companies then stop until premium is current. Not with @Cigna. They stop immediately. It’s such an insane policy that should NOT be allowed to exist. Even more insane is that Cigna holds steadfast to it 4)
during an unprecedented pandemic when millions of people are out of work & just getting by. Health insurance companies are one of the most immorally grotesque corporate sectors in existence. Imagine cutting people off access to their scripts during the middle of a worldwide 5)
pandemic for being late on a premium 5 days. Furthermore, where is the reporting on this?! Someone needs to write about the extent of all of this. How this pandemic is impacting access to health insurance and what companies are doing about it. @Cigna isn’t doing a damn thing.
