Calling all Watford supporters.
This week, we have 2 massive matches coming up, against very good opposition in Man City & Arsenal.
We are fighting to survive in the PL. A league we fought very hard to get into & have stayed in for the longest period in the clubs history. (1/11)
Just a few short years ago we were days, if not hours, away from going out of business.
We were saved by Gino Pozzo & Scott Duxbury. And with the help of Filippo Giraldi rose from that position to 5 seasons in the Prem and an FA Cup final. (2/11)
This season has not been good. We've massively underperformed given the players at the club. Mistakes have been made. Our players have made them, VAR have made them, and some have been made off the pitch too.
It happens. We all wish they haven’t. But they have. (3/11)
But there's been loads of great too. Not just the brilliant performance & win against Liverpool. The win against Utd. And Wolves. 3 teams all pushing for Europe. Some great other performances, both team & individual. Not enough, sure. But memories just the same. (4/11)
How about the work the club did during lockdown with the NHS? Or with the local community through the whole season & especially during lockdown? And our great stadium, with the great displays from @The1881_wfc, the Vicarage Roadies, the friendly staff & a great atmosphere. (5/11)
I'm proud of the club I love. We're incredibly lucky to have the people running it in charge and the people who work tirelessly on and off the pitch to try and keep us all happy on matchdays. I'm proud to be a @WatfordFC supporter. And I give all my support to them. (6/11)
In the last few weeks, whether here, on forums, or other social media I've seen some utterly despicable things said about the football club by people who I thought loved the club just as much as I do. I understand the hurt. But hitting out like that isn't going to help. (7/11)
Not only is it massively disrespectful to those who have saved our club and taken us to the "promised land", it's not exactly going to help on the pitch either. The players don't hear our chants now. We are meant to be supporters. And some are not being supportive. (8/11)
This week, more than ever, we need to get behind the players, behind Nigel & his team, and behind everyone at the club. We must motivate, be supportive & do everything we can to help them all stay in the Premier League. Beat our own fears with passion and love. (9/11)
We are Watford. And we will not go down without a fight. So let's start showing the passion that we all have for the club in the right way, rather than the wave of negativity.
We haven't worked so far to get where we are to just give up when the going gets tough. (10/11)
Imagine what things could have been like. What division would we even be in if it wasn't for our board & the players they've brought to the club? We're lucky to be alive in what is the best period in the clubs history. Let's not forget that. #youorns (11/11)
