Long read: 9 years ago, @KevinOBrien113 rocketed to fame with an incredible century in the cricket world cup! With that, he became quite famous in India. Little did I know that the century on the WC would directly lead me to spending 6 years of my life in Ireland. 1/n

Following that, education in Ireland roped him in as an ambassador. For this purpose he visited India. During his visit to Chennai, I was so keen on meeting him. But when I reached the , he had gone to lunch, so I was told to spend some time at the education fair. 2/n

Since I had time to kill, I ended up visiting various stalls and ended up going to the stall set up by Shannon College of hotel Management! No one was there, I didn't have to queue. No brainer. I got chatting to the member of staff and actually got really interested. 3/n

I kept in touch over the next 2 years and then eventually did end up at Shannon. This then led to 6 absolutely amazing and wonderful years. I still can't get over how my desire to meet @KevinOBrien113 ended up with me spending a quarter of my life in Ireland. 4/n

And today, I finally make my way back to India! As I'm waiting in Mumbai for my flight to take off to Chennai, I feel an overwhelming amount of emotion. To think that I won't be back in Ireland, to think that I can't have another boojum or a breakfast roll is overwhelming. 5/n

To think that I won't be able to complain about the rain, I won't be able whine about the public transport. But the thing I'll miss the most, will be the people.
The Irish are the most friendly, warm and loving people out there. And I'll miss having the craic. 6/n

So thank you @KevinOBrien113 for changing my life. You may not know it, but you directly changed the course of my life.

To Ireland, I might always be a foreigner or an immigrant, but to me, Ireland will always be my home.
