THREAD FOR HOW TO SPOT SCAMMERS SELLING OVER SOCIAL MEDIA PLATFORMS:

1. look through their pictures (this may seem weird but sometimes it will help verify if it’s an authentic account) - if they only have random images of scenery or cartoons & none of themselves THAT’S FISHY
2. look through their tweets or posts - if their posts are only directed towards them selling the particular item or only random quotes - SKETCHY
3. see how old their account is - if it’s fairly new to the time period they started selling the product and that seems to be the only thing relevant to their page.... SKETCHY SKETCHY
4. PAYMENT METHOD!!!! if they refuse to sell via paypal goods & services, mercari, depop, or ebay EVEN after you offer to pay more to cover fees DO NOT DO IT!!! especially if they insist on cash app or venmo
5. If they come up with excuses to not use protected payments methods or try to make you feel bad for not trusting them - THEY’RE A SCAMMER!!!!!!!!! People genuinely selling items will understand hesitation to purchase items via social media
these are just my personal methods for spotting scammers if I think of anymore I will add them ♥️ if you guys need help spotting a scammer dm me - I am usually good and investigating 😊
