Please read this Thread...... RACISM and or ANTI-SEMITISM holds not only the oppressed captive but also the oppressor. Neither are allowed live life to the fullest of their capabilities.
What I have read and heard about Congressman John Lewis is that he wanted to help make AMERICA whole. He believed that racism is a sickness. That the only way to overcome this sickness is by love. It takes a special person to say that you have to love the hate out of someone.
These are the sobering words we need to hear right now. All the racism and anti-semitism is taking us to a place that once again is holding us captive. As John Lewis once said it's time to get into "Good Trouble".
I want to choose my words wisely with this statement. Systemic racism has held all of us back as a nation. Meaning it infiltrates all issues dealing with every race. One race will not care for the shortcomings of one race if their voice isn't heard.
Take each others struggles personal. The only way we can move forward is to put ourselves into each others shoes. There are white people living in just as much poverty as blacks. We all want the same things. But have to want it for others as much as we want it for ourselves.
Civil Rights is not Black Rights. The movement was about the rights of every person in this nation. It was believed that if this nation didn't live up to it's standards for blacks that someday it would fail whites too. This has become a truth. This nation has failed us all.
