There's no sense that there's any thought given to developing female referees, or that there's any kind of review/learning process. If these things exist, PRO should be trumpeting them. They're making a 101 mistake: in an info vacuum, fans will fill it with assumptions, often bad
IMO if PRO were more transparent, people would give them more slack, not less. I do think there's a problem where we expect refs to be 100% correct every time instead of seeing it as someone doing a job and sometimes making mistakes. But you gotta admit to the mistakes.
