being secretive about money is weird to me. i understand its nobodys business but it creates an illusion that celebrities often use to hide the fact that they either make less than how they present themselves or more. 500k followers does not equate to 500k in my account

as an independent artist my company Noname Touring Inc has made a little over 1 million dollars. This is primarily from touring venues and festival gigs. But because i’m not signed and don’t receive huge budgets from labels, NT has to cover all my operational cost.

Flights, tour bus, rehearsals, equipment, lighting, etc etc etc. several people are employed via Noname Touring Inc (2 managers, 1 business manager, 1 lawyer, 1 publicist, 4 instrumentalists, 3 singers, 1 tour manager, and 1 merch seller). In my 6 years working as a...

professional musician i’ve been able to save $350k in my personal account. Noname Touring Inc has about $120k. this is not my money. i am employed under this company like the other folks i mentioned. that account is used to pay folks + cover operational costs.

my entire career i have turned down brand partnerships, label deals, and commercials because i didn’t feel those things were necessary. my basic needs and my families needs are met with what i currently make.

last year i quit performing because i dont want to play for predominantly white crowds. since then my politics have developed and im also not performing because i’m trying to develop and maintain anti-capitalist principles. this is a journey but i’ll be transparent all the way
