(1/3) I cannot stress this enough, teaching sports statistics should NOT only focus sports problems (imo). Instead, the material should include a variety of examples (i.e., engineering, finance, etc.), with a HEAVY focus on the theory/methods
(2/3) followed up by exciting sports case studies to make the model-decision connections. Being able to see quantitative problems from a wide range of viewpoints is extremely important for collaboration, self-starter project abilities, and presenting to different audiences.
(3/3) Also, you'll be much more marketable should you choose to consult/change fields since stats/data-science is such an adaptable skillset in today's world. #rstats #statistics #data #DataScience #datascience4all
