It was a bad talk in so many ways. And shame on @SHEARites for taking it down, as if that would hide what happened and what was said. Ironically in an age when a misinformed public thinks taking statues down is erasing history, this is a true erasure, or an attempt anyway.

Many, many kudos to @historianess for this excellent thread, which not only so well explains what happened and what was said, but also is just extremely informative! I actually learned a lot (in contrast to the plenary, where most of what I learned was a cautionary tale).
