So, since my fellow desis were calling me a bootlicker, for telling them that what R was wearing wasn't desi, I got annoyed and contacted the sunaar(jewellery maker) who makes jewellery for my mom and asked these questions(in urdu but I translated them)
This was his reply, he sent an audio so I recorded it. Over here, he's speaking in Sindhi so scroll down to see the translation(in Urdu and in English)
The English translation(this one was quite messy as the words in Sindhi were spoken a bit differently but I somehow managed to get these to be simple)
He CLEARLY stated that he'd never seen ANYONE wear this kind of matha patti in his 30 year long career, so if any of you still have doubts about this NOT being a desi matha patti, please do know that HE knows more about jewellery than any of YOU. He even called it upretty...
Now, talk about educating yourself first. You called ME a non desi, for KNOWING that something didn't belong to my culture. If you're still up for an argument then it's OBVIOUS that you WANT our culture to be appropriated by the girls.
Thanks.
Also, some of y'all are STILL using the Grecian circlet reference and that doesn't sit well with me. That was MISINFO, STOP SPREADING IT. I apologized for it too, as a Greek confirmed that the site was clearly lying to catch attention. Try telling others to stop using that too.
It has come to my attention that some people are harassing other desis for thinking it was a part if their culture. Please don't do that, they have EVERY RIGHT to question it. Even I thought it belonged to my culture first, but I realised how different it actually was.
I didn't know you guys would go this far. But what else could I expect. https://twitter.com/blackvelvetkook/status/1284545378000556035?s=20
