A book📖 every week, because if you are looking for a mentor, probably you may find it in your bookshelf!

🚨THREADBOOK!🚨

Let's continue with a book that had a lot of success but also a lot of skepticism, perhaps because of its slightly new-age intonation 👇
The Power of Now: A Guide to Spiritual Enlightenment by @EckhartTolle.

A quote from the book:

If the mind is willing, the flesh could go on and on without many things.

Eckhart Tolle @EckTOLLEQuotes
The book in 2 tweets: The secret to being happy is to focus on the present moment and live it fully. But often we allow the past and future to poison our present. This behavior doesn't make sense because the past and future don't really exist:
the only thing that exists is the "now" and only by choosing to focus on the now we can harness its power, be happy, and reach spiritual enlightenment.
5 Ideas coming from this great book:

Idea 1: Our minds can become our worst competitors.
Unlike other tools that we put away once used, the mind has the peculiarity of invading our present, becoming a sort of screen that shapes and deforms the reality we are experiencing.
Idea 2: We can eliminate our suffering thanks to our conscience and awareness.

Focusing on the present means focusing on what we feel in this precise moment
Idea 3: The secret to being happy is to dive into the present moment.

Nothing really happened in the past, but it happened in a present that later became past.
Idea 4: You must calmly accept what you cannot change and concentrate on which you can really influence.

Accept it as if you chose it.
Idea5: To achieve your spiritual enlightenment learn to separate yourself from thought.

Tolle explains that the way to do this is to separate ourselves from our constantly thinking mind and observe it as something separate from ourselves.
Start acting, doing:

• live more in the present
• take full advantage of pleasant moments
• focus on the things you can change
