Thought: sometimes we think about obedience too negatively. E.g. people say “Don’t wear immodest clothes because you’re a Christian” instead of “because your value isn’t in your appearance, you can wear clothes that look good without trying to gain attention”
Or “I can’t be in private places with women because I’ll stumble” instead of “I choose to enjoy female company at appropriate times, so I can enjoy them without the risk of fornicating”
Another one: “I can’t bump train because it’s stealing and that’s a sin” instead of “I choose to trust God with my finances, so I don’t have to do illegal things to get by”

Obedience is a lot more liberating than we give it credit. As Christians, we’re free to enjoy life with Christ. Not be slaves to miserable obedience
