The Guardian has actually been a lot better in recent months - now it doesn’t feel need to bore on about how terrible Corbyn is - & has been esp good on coverage of covid-privatisation. I certainly don’t want it to die. But I’d like a couple of things to change...
better informed comment pieces in general (no I don’t need Simon Jenkins opinion on anything other than church architecture). Notice this esp in NHS pieces, too many strange, spin-swallowing “how Hancock/Johnson/Hunt/Lansley will save nhs” articles, I kid you not, also too many..
“The NHS problems are the fault of feckless patients and selfish greedy doctors” articles too. Just too much credulous re-hashing of some establishment chat / nhs press release, though some of the newer people are good. And also /
Can we just not have Marina Hyde making prison rape jokes nor John Crace making jokes about who right wing women sleep with
I’m probably not explaining this very well but I do think for last 10 yrs the guardian hasn’t done a good job of informing people what’s happening to the nhs & a lot of stuff that has been published that’s really muddied water. Hope they don’t cut newer ppl who’re doing better.
