Not calling anyone out, these are just the trends I’ve noticed really looking at other YouTubers as I start to experiment with making videos again.
One thing I will call out is the battle reports: 90% of them make AoS and 40K look so confusing and overly complicated just because the camera is constantly moving and focusing on the wrong things.
Bigger channels *should* be using multi-static camera setups with handheld inserts to show finer details. Editing is a lot a work but is your friend. Also have a fixed dice rolling area.
I’m aware this is a lot of camera/phones to setup to record but...:
- Main camera: angled shot of whole table
- Player 1 POV
- Player 2 POV
- Dice cam
- Handheld: show the current status of the action with as little movement as possible
-Top down tactical view (optional)

Also please, please, please use graphics to highlight objectives, unit movement, etc. There is a reason they use them in White Dwarf all the time it helps show what is going on in the player’s head.
