Posters emerged everywhere in lal chowk written “jisne apni ma ka dudh piya hai wo Srinagar ke Lal chowk me aaye aur Bharat ka tiranga lehraye. Wo zinda wapis nahi jayega”
This was the outcome when Murli Manohar Joshi ji , the then president of BJP announced “He will be coming to Lal Chowk on 26 January for Flag hoisting along with his 10,000 supporters” (2/9)
Murli Joshi ji led 46 days “ekta yatra” from Kanyakumari to Kashmir with current PM Narendra Damodardas Modi.
Militants were furious and started planning against Flag hoisting. (3/9)
On 24th January, During speech Modi ji said “Chand ghante baki hai ,Hum 26 ko lal chowk pe zenda lehrayenge. Tab tay kar lenge kisne maa ka dudh piya hai”
Attacks became more aggressive. Police station was blasted by militants. 4 officers along with DGP were injured. (4/9)
Later on it was challenge for army to guard Srinagar highway as “Ekatra yatra” supporters planned to take that route to reach lal chowk. Curfew imposed. Issued shooting orders. (5/9)
Because of stressful climate, President and his some partners had to airlift to Srinagar. Whole area was consigned to army. Security guards were stationed at every door and rooftop to avoid attacks from militants. (6/9)
Finally Murli Joshi ji along with Narendra Modi ji and other BJP supporters arrived to lal chowk. Explosions and gunfire echoed through Srinagar's streets. Unsuccessful attempt of rockets was done by militants. (7/9)
Amidst all this stressful climate , They hoisted Indian flag at clock tower, Lal Chowk, Srinagar. Raised feeble slogans of “Vande Mataram”. Sang national anthem. (8/9)
Mission was accomplished. Murli Joshi ji and Narendra Modi ji with their colleagues created history. It was a first time indian flag hoisted in 1992 after Nehru hoisted in 1948 at same place. (9/9)
