The truth of Chabahar project where reportedly Iran has “dropped” India:

Iran was getting frustrated with slow movement on the Chabahar projects. It forwarned India in 2019 itself that if India stops importing Iranian oil or the projects don’t progress on a fast pace, Iran will go alone on Railway Link project https://www.thehindu.com/news/national/india-should-not-have-joined-us-ban-says-iran/article29386180.ece
Iran also maintained througout that the Chabahar project isn’t targetted towards Pakistan. It even expressed interest in linking Chabahar with Gwadar which are just 72 km away from each other.
Iranian Ambassador to Pakistan even spoke of a golden ring of China, Russia, Iran, Pakistan and Turkey and expressed Iran’s interest in making Chabahar a part of CPEC.
Now China itself was getting frustrated with the slow progress of CPEC projects in Pakistan. It started to view Iran’s case more sympathetically. And here came a massive $400 billion strategic deal.
Two events intersected: Iran started work on the Chabahar-Zahedan rail link and China promised this investment to Iran. Leading more fire to the rumor that India has been “dropped” from Chabahar project or that Chabahar is now part of CPEC
Iran has clarified that India hasn’t been “dropped” from the project. In fact, Iran is saying that India was never a part of the rail link project.
