2017 - August/September.(massive bull run)

1.5L capital shrunk to 1.32L because I took some stupid brokerage plan in ICICIDIRECT. Fortunately/Unfortunately I doubled this money trading stock futures by the end of the year, mostly buying and sitting tight.

2018. Music stops with Kim rockets. Holding futures overnight was disastrous, especially February. Somehow I was managing to hold on to my capital but never made any money. Things continue same for another 3-4 months with me going to selling options.

Will make money here and there and will lose it all in one trade by end of month. I remember crying for losing 34k in Adani Enterprises options due to liquidity on expiry day, this was my monthly income so far and lost in one day. Then considered moving to index options only.

This was when Yesbank fell suddenly. I made some money in index and again gave it up on a Yesbank collar trade. Now I’m going to stick to rules and do only index trades, still I’m not making any meaningful profits to make a living but I was gaining skill, experience.

I went in/out of trades quickly, all 1 lot trades and learnt how my PnL behaves for various positions, now broker is Zerodha and possibly in 2018 August. I became confident of my skill and invested in chit fund where I had to pay monthly 20-25k for 20 months,

so that I could withdraw 3.5-5L within this period, I withdrew 3.5L in first month itself and made my capital 6.5L. I made 30-40k continuously for two months. My mother(trader herself) took farm loan on one or two of jewels which was worth 1.5 and gave it to me.

Capital around 8L now. 2018 November. I had massive months for such capital only doing expiry trades on Zerodha. Almost made 1L after that each month on Avg. But I was home and using up my winnings to pay off loans/expenses continuously.

By 2019 March I was having only around 11L in capital, but this time I stopped withdrawing strictly. Things went well and I was near 44L 2020 March. March 2020 alone almost doubled my capital.
Kept compounding now at 60+.

I increased my capital only after I became confident of my skill set. I thought of quitting in 2018 May itself, but somehow hung on to it. I was stupidly courageous. I’m sharing it because people don’t ask again.

This is not the only way or proper way to do this.

Lot of this can be checked in previous tweets of that timeline also.

June 2019 was the only down month for me so far, after increasing my capital over 5L. Scratched through in May 2019, Feb 2020.

I may not be the only breadwinner in my home but I am the main one, now.

I also paid out most of what I owe completely. I know this a very risky way of life but I chose it.

I thought I was young enough to waste 2-4 years on trading if I was a failure and took the risk.

My parents have been a big support as they have been traders themselves.

END.
