no 🧢 my moms strongest the person ik; at 10 she lived thru delhi in 84, at 18 she gave up her education to preserve her families honor by accepting an arranged marriage, she had me 2 years later in canada while working 50+ hrs a week at a factory, she put herself in college
to pursue buisness admin, (which my dads side lashed out on her for) she stayed at the factory for a decade till her shoulder got nerve damage. she literally divorced my dad (on his orders) to marry his nephew (my older cousin) so he had documents to get into Canada
dads parents lived with us for free but when my moms parents wanted to come to canada jus some months, he forced/manipulated her to charge them rent. after living with us for a few months my nana ji legit apologized to my mom for marrying her into such n uneducated family
nxt my new bhabi n her sister came to stay with us for about a year, this dumb bitch created so much beef n had the audacity to tell my mom some shit like "i don't have to listen to u, is ur name on the ownership of this house?" this sparked 3 years of toxcity between my rents
during this time my mom was physically assaulted on multiple occasions, her shoulder w nerve damage was legit targetted cause no one believed her pain/injury to be real.. i remember dialing 911 on my dad cause he wouldn't stop hurting mom..
i'm 12 now, my brothers 3, its a warm night in september n i'm watching WWE Monday night raw, dad comes sit beside me n just blankly asks, if me and ur mom seperate who do u want to live with. i was shattered.. like what u want ne to pick her or u.. he said he'd give me some time
thought he'd give me a day but nah he came back in like 15 mins asking me my answer, i'm balling my eyes out my voice cracking as i barely say "mom". grade 8 started, i was so lifeless, i was gettin jumped by 2-3 rascists every other day but it didn't matter life was fallin apart
flash forward its october, dads working 2 - 10 or something, came home from school n everythings packed up, moms like "what are you doing standing there, start putting boxes in the car, go steal some of ur dads backyard chairs we're leaving n never coming back" so i did that
flash forward a bit, she's working an office job w the degree no one wanted her to have, she's also putting herself through school (again) for cutting hair cos she wants something more sociable.
she did both for a a few years till she got her AZ license
its 2020 now, i'm 24, moms been driving long distance 5.5 days a week to cali. she's literally one of the only punjabi female truck drivers in canada. she overcame sooo much bullshit to get to where she is today and she is thriving!! my moms the strongest person i know
