Certain of them are fully aware of this discrepancy, of course, and simply do not care. Self-aware leftists are just ones who know they are constantly lying and think nothing of it; it's just another tool to pursue their righteous cause, and their enemies deserve no consideration
"Why don't you care about the Federal government brutality NOW?" is just Rules for Radicals #4 being applied yet again. They're not really holding YOU to your own rules, but demanding consideration under your own moral code - despite not giving a shit about it themselves.
It's still important to me to make these distinctions; to tear apart their false equivalencies and keep establishing that we are, in fact, in the right.

These people are not our countrymen; as evidenced by their comprehensive efforts to destroy the very principles and institutions our culture and country rely upon. People who live to destroy a system have absolutely no standing on which to criticize its detail functions.
A large number of people, many who's bellies were full of humiliation and desperation a decade ago, have cast aside any vestige of equal weighing of arguments between equals and fully embraced Us vs. Them.
