I made a post on another platform after the last announcement about the Disability Tax Credit. It was regarding the application process and I thought I'd share it here to maybe inform someone who is considering applying for the DTC in the 60 day window:
Tip for applying for the DTC:

Your doctor needs to be thorough in their explanation. The CRA doesn't care about what disabilities and diagnoses you have per say. They ONLY care about how –
it affects your day to day life.

You basically have to flat out explain every embarrassing thing that affects your daily living. E.G. it takes me MINIMUM 1 hour to shower. (True story) So I would have to explain exactly why it takes me that long. Explain precisely why my daily –
routine isn't as simple as an ableds daily routine.

You have to be much more thorough than on the ODSP application. As does your doctor.

Most doctors don't want to do it bc they think it is a waste of time bc of how many ppl get denied. So you need to be persistent. –
So why would one want the DTC?

- gives you access to RDSP. A tax-free savings program just for disabled folks where the gov matches some (a small amount) of the money contributed to it. However you can not touch the money in it for 10 years* Also, if you don't –
have funds to put in it, it's still great to have because the government puts grants in there for you, even without personal funds being put in.

- if needed a caregiver, parent, etc can use the discount on their taxes

- it's a way for federal government to know you are disabled
