Rishi Yajnavalkya in Shatpath says -

अहम् अंसलं चेद् भवति इति

Amsal do not mean Meat, it means one that gives strength here. https://twitter.com/syed7300/status/1284048475663945732
Next in Apastamba 1/3/10
This is context of Marriage, first it talks about keeping a cow at place where marriage is happening and another at home....
आलम्भः do not mean Kill here it means to touch, this word used in same meaning in Manusmriti 2.179
Cows were not killed at time of marriages, cows were donated/gifted
For example in Manusmriti

एकं गोमिथुनं द्वे वा वरादादाय धर्मतः ।कन्याप्रदानं विधिवदार्षो धर्मः स उच्यते

Cows were never killed in Marriages
In Apsatamba etc Grihya Sutras Giving of Cows is mentioned like

मघाभिर्गावो गृह्यन्ते
विवाहे गौः
गृहेषु गौः
तया वरमतिथिवदर्हयेत् etc
Next Rigveda 10.85.13
सूर्याया वहतुः प्रागात्सविता यमवासृजत् । अघासु हन्यन्ते गावोऽर्जुन्योः पर्युह्यते

Here too it talks about marriage ceremony and the word is हन्यन्ते
Here it is made from हनँ गतौ hence it means taking cows not killing them.
All their claims are hollow and based on wrong translations they receive on WhatsApp groups. But still people get influenced by them sometimes especially those who have no or very less knowledge of Dharma and our texts.
