I saw a TikTok the other day listing male idols that break gender norms/stereotypes and they had the audacity to not listen a single Monsta X member. IMAGINE. Anyway hereâs a thread of Wonho breaking gender stereotypes/norms

Firstly letâs talk about the fact that I keep seeing everyone talk about kpop boys in crop tops, often in âthings I want to see boys wear more ofâ type lists. WONHO HAS BEEN WEARING CROP TOPS SINCE 2016!!
Another example of 2016 Wonho in a crop top
Wonho has worn clothing specifically designed for/marketed to women, such as the time he wore a Calvin Klein womenâs sweater in 2018
But Wonho is more than someone who breaks fashion stereotypes. Heâs always been inclusive, most recently he answered a male wenee and reassured him, even though people see kpop fandoms as being predominantly female ~ https://twitter.com/wonhonthisday/status/1283746474564747264
Hereâs another cute moment with a male monbebe ~ https://twitter.com/twinkchangmin/status/704327991707508736
Here he is with Jooheon giving advice to a gay monbebe & encouraging them

Donât forget that time Wonho called out heteronormativity in ads...

When asked about who he wanted to marry, Wonho said he doesnât care if youâre a man or a woman as long as you cook ramen well. I also wanna point out the cute moment afterwards when they said Kihyun is a man, he can cook ramen, Wonho just shrugged and said âI love youâ to Ki

I would also argue Wonho popularised the muscle bound/athletic body type idol. This isnât to say idols werenât going to the gym before he was but there is a reason all the male idols are whipped for him & poke at his muscles 24/7... (look up âmale idols whipped for Wonhoâ)
However despite Wonhoâs âbeefcakeâ reputation outside the MX/Wenee fandom, we know that heâs more than just a six pack. Wonho has never been ashamed of showing his emotions, being vulnerable and showing love and affection to his (male) members.
Side note I was gonna include some moments where he was on vlive talking to us and being emotional but ITâS TOO SAD look it up yourself if you wanna cry
Also I have to include this story of Changkyun finding Kihyun and Wonho holding each other crying, my beautiful boys https://twitter.com/kikimatchalatte/status/1252685408305111043
The way in which Wonho wears his heart on his sleeve, completely unafraid and the way he is so open with his MX brothers is the antithesis of toxic masculinity. I think heâs an incredible role model for men in particular, young & old, for the way his actions encourage +
ppl to rethink gender norms/stereotypes, to not be scared of vulnerability/emotions and to love/show affection to your male friends openly and unbothered. Everyone should stan @official__wonho, the man who constantly breaks boundaries & wears his heart on his sleeve

And p.s. Iâve talked about Wonho this whole time but the entirety of @OfficialMonstaX & @official__wonho, all seven members, constantly defy toxic masculinity. If youâre not a monbebe/wenee, I really encourage you to read up on them

Now I am not saying that Wonho is the only or even first male idol to give a
to gender norms/toxic masculinity but him and the rest of Monsta X are consistently left out of these kinds of âmale idols that reject gender normsâ type lists and itâs a CRIME

I just wanna add this tweet bc it basically sums it all up: https://twitter.com/joohoneyland/status/1121091696392122368
Did I just spend an hour making this thread? Maybe... will it get 2 likes from my only friends... maybe
Okay the fact that I thought this was gonna get like one like...
anyways stan @official__wonho & @OfficialMonstaX, whether youâre OT7, OT6 + solo, monbebe, wenee, whatever, letâs all love & protect the boys and respect each other
