Unpopular teacher opinion: I am tired of reading posts from parents asking teachers to pls not wear face masks/face shields/scrubs to classes in Sept, as it will “trigger” your child. This is NOT ABOUT YOUR CHILD! It’s about OUR safety & if I feel I need a hazmat suit, I should
be able to go out & buy one! It’s about me feeling safe enough to do my job. I’m not saying your concerns about the children aren’t valid. That it won’t make them fearful. I get that’s a thing. My own kid suffered from it, as she was hospitalized A LOT as a small child. But,
If my very reasonable safety precautions are “triggering” for your child, there is an online version of school being offered. Take it. Thanks.

& that goes for that SickKids report too. I don’t CARE if it offends/upsets kids, or might cause “psychological damage”.
You know what will DEFINITELY cause psychological damage to me and my kids? My death. I will do a lot for my students, but putting my health & the health of my family on the line just to make them comfortable goes well beyond what I am willing to do.
