There is no easy fix. There is no manual.
I absolutely believe that "wrestling people" need to be involved in the reforming of the scene - but up to a point. A point where those who know their stuff about safeguarding and procedures know how stuff used to work. 1/

Then, once they know the truth about the old ways, "wrestling people" (I'm being general for a reason) get out of the way and let the systems get created and put in place. Without interference and without any attempts of watering it down. 2/
Do the "wrestling media" need to know? Absolutely - but there's a big difference between telling the media and having them on side as evangelists.

Trust and faith in the scene is at an all time low. Attempts need to be made to reform, but for the love of God, don't rush this. Every avoidable chased away those who were already on the fence and insults those who are genuinely trying to make a difference. 5/
It's not going to be easy. It's not going to be an overnight thing. But those of us who have been burnt to any degree are now cynical to any change being proposed.

Read the room. Take your time. Do right by those who spoke out and forced this scene into forcing these changes.
What this scene used to do got us where we are now. Change must come from the outside - even if it's handed back to the scene to run afterwards. 7/

Tldr - don't try to rush changes just because there's a dangling carrot that shows may be able to run again soon. This may well be something that is "in the bubble", but fuck this up any more and there will be no bubble. 8/8
