Thread: I've been thinking a lot about s3x work in the age of covid, and how it's necessarily moved our work online where cash can no longer be used in transactions. This means we have to deal with a notoriously anti-s3x work monolith: payment processors.
Here's the thing: payment processors aren't anti-s3x work because the companies are prudish. They don't give a flying heck what people do with the money in their system, as long as they get a cut. Porn is legal, after all.

They're anti-s3x work because of chargebacks and fraud.
Strip clubs, adult entertainment sites, and peer-to-peer payment platforms (V3nmo, C4shApp, P4yPal, etc.) are very frequently involved in disputed transactions. Payment processors are legally on the hook for chargebacks and fraud.
They'd rather not take on the risk, so they kick s3x workers and s3x work-adjacent businesses off their platforms. They are within their legal rights to do so. This obviously leaves us in a bind. How do we get paid for our work without cash, when payment processors deplatform us?
I've been trying to come up with a solution for this that doesn't leave individual s3x workers on the hook for chargebacks and fraud (this would be much worse than the current system for obvious reasons). So far I can't come up with anything.
I'd love to hear thoughts on this from people who are more knowledgable than me. Does anyone have a legal, workable solution that I'm missing?
