Someone has contacted the YBC to let us know that a pupil is on standby for a CVP hearing until 10pm tonight. I have raised this with @TheBarCouncil and made @TheCriminalBar aware.
How on earth can we resolve the retention crisis at the Bar while this is happening?
Update: The case has been heard. I have spoken to the pupil on the phone who said, "I'm not just appalled for me, I am appalled for the court staff who are doing their best."
I have been assured that extended operating hours are not in place as a policy and this was a decision taken by the individual court. The DSPJ and the Chief Magistrate are investigating this over the weekend.
