Americans don’t like masks because they’re individuals living in a society thst has had its community shattered. Appeals to “pulling together” are empty because there is no together, because there is no community, there is no America. Thus, personal comfort takes precedence
It’s also one of the few displays of spite that the normal American can do safely. A form of resistance that will be met with mere shaming at worst, but not doxing, not being fired from work, not ostracism. It is the rarest and safest forms of rebellion, one that is apolitical.
The origin of the requests also comes not from your friend or neighbor, which an American would easily accept, but from the hypocritical, shrill, sneering leftist experts and bureaucrats. The same ones who previously rushed to say masks were useless to the Americans they hate
It’s the equivalent of your enemy asking you to keep quiet if he caught you humming, or to move out of the way as he walks. Naturally you now want to do the opposite even more
Would be interesting to see if there’s a correlation of obesity and aversion to mask wearing lol
