Thread:

1)Early this morning, Portland Police Bureau, assisted by federal officers, raided Lownsdale Square and Chapman Square, two peaceful Portland parks, attacking and running off citizens who were doing nothing more than exercising their Constitutional right to protest.
2) Part of this raid included an attack on Riot Ribs - a pay-what-you-will BBQ pop-up that was staffed by volunteers. They were given 10 minutes warning before all their donated food was destroyed, their cash donations were confiscated, and three of their workers were arrested.
3) Their phones, wallets, and clothes were taken. Shoes were taken from a houseless volunteer. These were not even protesters. They were helpers.
4) As a pay-what-you-will theatre pop-up that is staffed by professional artists, Ops Fest resolutely condemns this action. We believe firmly that our parks are sacrosanct places of amity. This sort of attack on peaceful activist organizations cannot stand.
5) It could very easily have been us.

This weekend, Ops will be donating 25% of our "bucket" donations to help get Riot Ribs back on their feet. We encourage you to make a direct donation as well.
