I just finished episode 5 of Heavy Medals. I wonder if the producers tried to get Vanessa Atler. It was weird to hear the audio from the 2000 Olympic trials because I've never watched the broadcast (well I watched part of night one in a hotel room in Boston)
It was obvious that Talavera was talking about Atler as the gymnast whose name Bela crossed off. Sorry I have very strong feelings about this even 20 years later and it's one of two gymnastics topics I refuse to debate or discuss...It was interesting to hear Beckerman share how
she was informed that she would not replace the injured White. That's exactly how I remember hearing it but I don't remember from where. I was going to stop at this episode today but after hearing the preview, I'm going to finish....
