Older people of color are significantly more likely to live with a school-age child compared to their White counterparts: 17% of Hispanic older adults, 13% of AIAN older adults, 11% Black older adults (compared with 4% of older White adults) lives with a school-age child.
We are already starting to see reports of daycare-associated outbreaks. In NY, an asymptomatic child in a daycare is the likely source for a cluster that now "includes six children at the child care, one sibling, seven parents and two grandmothers."

As always, the best way to reduce the risks of #ReopeningSchools is to reduce the overall level of community transmission. Where there is a significant level of transmission, the risk of school or daycare associated outbreaks is present.
