The article suggests there was a decrease in infection because of masks. There was a negligible reduction of 3% but take a closer look at the study.
They use the electronic records of employees before and during the crisis. But they ignore other possible variables that might account for the reduction. They even admit that the decrease in infections could be confounded by other interventions.

This review dated May 2020 reviewed 14 Randomised Control Trials.
