this shouldn't be the case, but the overlap between the experiences of cis queer men and trans men (a category of queer men) are severely under acknowledged and underexamined, in part because ppl want to act like trans men are their agab

i've seen some ppl say that "trans men are basically just seen as gnc/tomboys" and while transmisic rhetoric does behave like that, gnc cis women don't get the same issues and vitriol we face and if they really saw us as gnc cis women they would treat us like such fully
gnc cis women aren't ridiculed or told they're fake when they express in feminine ways, or framed as predatory and invasive for liking men, or told they have to adhere to near impossible standards of masculinity in order to be treated with respect (and then still aren't)
cis queer men and trans men do have their differences- cis queer men are cis. they are not the targets of transmisia or misogyny. but this translates into "additional issues as well as ones heightened by transmisia", not "trans men share no experiences with other queer men" lol
i see ppl who will think abt even gay trans men primarily in relation to gnc and cis queer women long before they ever think abt gay trans men as another type of queer man and it's honestly exhausting?
the ways trans men share oppression with other queer men is real and should be used to make community and show support for each other. and so often, it isn't. people are completely closed off to even the idea that trans men are affected by similar things
hell, i've seen takes that deny that effeminacy as a concept is something that affects even gay trans men, or somehow is only "misdirected". like idk how to tell you, but it isn't. wtf
trans men are considered more inherently effeminate by simply being trans men alone. people will literally pick apart the features and mannerisms of even "passing" trans men for features they perceive as feminine
every fucking thing trans men do is pieced apart for signs of femininity. and when people find something they perceive to be feminine, they attack, ridicule, and reject trans men for it.
if that doesn't sound similar to the way cis queer men are treated then idk what to tell you
