21st century Sikhs today who view their political party/ideology as their religion will probably feel uncomfortable at a series of clips in going to post.

Below is a Republican, one of the first few, to raise their voice against India’s treatment of Sikhs in the 1985.
Sept 8, 1988: Rep. Dan Burton Republican of Indiana speaks of the plight of the Sikhs, and criticizes Rajiv Gandhi’s government as a false democracy dictatorship, that is complicit in torturing and raping Sikhs. He also exposed the communist ties to India enabling this.
This shows how politics aren’t black and white, and applying overly black and white narratives of boxing Sikhs in left or right is wrong, especially when despite popular belief that leftism doesn’t have blood on its hands, it does.

Our allegiance should be towards the Panth and allowing of diversified means of bringing in Sikh interests, because if you dig deep enough, there’s no entity in the world that has a utopian standard of purity.
