Failure in the mainstream is viewed as a net negative. This causes people to cower away from taking risk therefore leading to a mediocre life.
The education system teaches us from an early age that failure is terrible and should be avoided. When you are young and "fail" a test, other students ridicule you, your parents become disappointed and the teacher questions your abilities.
Unfortunately this thought process has leaked over to the real world. The real world is nothing like the classroom but many still are fearful of failure because of the negative emotions they felt in the past toward it.
You have to rewire mind to love failure. Abraham Lincoln was demoted in the military, failed at starting multiple business and had many failed runs for office before becoming president.
Vincent Van Gogh only sold one of his painting during his lifetime. Have you ever heard of the company Traf-O-Data? Probably not but you have heard of Microsoft.
Bill gates first company Traf-O-Data was a failure and led the way to him creating Microsoft. The morale of the story is that failure shaped all of these people in a positive way.
Think of failures as an opportunity to grow. Go out and fail. Take the risk, apply for the job you want, ask the girl out, build the business, attempt your max deadlift.
Write down the lessons from your failures. In the end you have to understand without failure you will never come close to living the life you want to live. Failure and stepping outside your comfort zone go hand and hand. Make smart decisions, take calculated risks, and fail more.
