We know other countries have had infections in HCWs then got their systems together, got their people trained back up & resources - then this changes

We can do this
There’s a lot of people keen to help
There’s expertise
5 months in people are tired
We can’t let this break us
There’s a lot of people who can assist us. Including interstate.

Let’s work together & regroup.

Vic hospitals and wards where there are issues:
Speak up - there’s lots of pathways.
This is about unity, working together and protection of our team - our people.
All our people.
The other thing us Twitter nerds know is we often have information BEFORE a lot of our peers who don’t.

We are information seekers & comfortable accessing different information sources.
Use this well at the moment.
Help our teams.
Work together.
There’s a lot of distress and anxiety in our people at the moment. Here’s a link I did earlier in the week with some resources: https://twitter.com/drjanemunro/status/1280621052893126656?s=21
This is a marathon.

Things can slip and we don’t want cracks, errors to happen & staff to get exposed when they don’t need to be.

We can all play a role in this by lifting our gaze, looking around and reassessing.
We are the system and we built it.
We can change it.
A lot of the transmission may well be staff to staff from community spread- so don’t forget your social distancing in office areas and other spaces.

And Mask Up
Some of our colleagues have been doing it hard...bc of their Dept or personal circumstances.

eg a lot of the ED teams, COVID ward or Exec have been getting flogged for months. Lots of others.

GPs in the community have been doing it tough.

Let’s look out for each other
And when people are tired it’s harder to advocate.
Or deal with the worry.
Systems get messy after months or under load sometimes rather than tighter.
Let’s make sure we all work together, listen to those waving a flag and do something about it - learn - system wide.
Huge thanks at the end of all of this to the incredible and hard work by the @victorianCHO and the public health team.

We’re on the ground in the clinic areas or running our clinics out in the community. We need to implement that advice as a team.
