Lets have a little fact check to bring things into perspective about the Aga sofa camii = Hagia sofia.

1. The monks willingly sold the Hagia sofia to Sultan Mehmet II to do with it as he wished. There are receipts documents and titles to the fact that exist to this day so the
idea that it was stolen and some how the Christian community was robbed of their house of worship is completely flawed.

2. When Sultan Mehmet II bought the "cathedral" it was in bad condition and falling apart as at the time of purchase it was being used as a garrison rather
then an active church. Sultan Mehmet II made the restorations and payed for it with his own money and then on completion gave it to the Muslims as an endowment and there are documents stating the fact.

3. By Islamic Law any property that becomes a masjid can not be
decommissioned unless it is replaced by better in the same place or surrounding areas.

4. As per Islamic law in a Muslim land the ruler has the right to use his discretion and judgment as he sees fit for the betterment of the nation.

5. Turkey exacts religious freedom and has
giving other religious groups the rights to have their own places of worship.

6. There are countries throughout Europe who has acquisitioned and when i say that i mean taken masjids ottoman or otherwise destroyed them or turned them into churches bars and nightclubs.
7. There are also countries in Europe who do not allow for the buliding of new masjids in a official capacity forcing communities to acquire temporary and rented spaces for makeshift masjids as well as applications for islamic spaces 70% more likely to be turned down then their
non Muslim counterparts.

8. The Hagia sofia spent 5 centurys operating as a masjid untill ataturks mission of forced secularisation of the country when it spent 85 years as a museum.

The Hagia sofia is a masjid will remain as such.

The counter arugments are flawed and easily
disproved.
