A thread on face coverings, for those who, like myself, have struggled with wearing one for whatever reason.

1. Bog standard non-medical mask, given out free at stations.
You can buy these cheaply, a slightly better version is available that gives more protection to the wearer.
Light, easy to wear and if you pinch the metal thread over your nose, glasses don’t steam up so much.

2. I quite like this one, if you can get beyond the fact that it smells of wetsuits and gets a bit warm on a hot day. I bought it in WH Smith, it’s washable at 60 degrees and doesn’t seem to steam glasses up too much, possibly because it stands away from your face a bit.

3. Bandido style didn’t work for me even though it’s the coolest look. The knot needed to be tight to make it stay in place, it squished my nose and the fabric kept going in my mouth.
Shame that.

4. This one, which I bought in a corner shop, is horrible. It has the look and feel of control underwear, clings like an old boyfriend you can’t shake off and the material sucks in as you breathe.

5. These are nice, lots of similar ones available all over and you can make them yourself. The material on these is thick but I found them easy to breathe through and they have the metal thread so you can pinch over your nose to stop glasses misting up and they look fine.

I don’t know if that’s helped anyone but as a former mask phobic who thought she would have to stay home for the next year, there is hope for us all.
