no but the way me and all of my abuse/unhealthy relationship survior friends find comfort and solidarity in jaspis and are just absolutely grossed out by ships that romanticize the experience (coughs rey/lo coughs) (1/9)
like people are always quick to say "if you ship jaspis you are problematic and need to unfollow me" but don't take in account how it's a huge comfort ship for abuse survivors because they see themselves in both characters (2/9)
but it's also incredibly realistic and it used to trigger me a shit ton and still does sometimes while other days it makes me happy. jasper & lapis was what actually made me find out my relationship had been abusive and not just unhealthy. (3/9)
and i love the community because it doesn't romanticize the ship like other shippers do. we acknowledge & constantly comment on what they did wrong to each other & how they can strive to be better. it's a very mature & healthy community for me as an abuse survivor to be in (4/9)
but at the same time it's super understandable to be uncomfortable by the ship and not want people following you, whether you're an abuse survivor or not. you don't need a reason to not like/be uncomfortable with a ship. (5/9)
but please keep in mind that that jasper and lapis's relationship is what helped a lot of people during a very rough time in their lives and that a large majority of the community are abuse survivors. it is perfectly okay to be anti jaspis but be aware of why you hate it (6/9)
& i am not speaking for all abuse surviors! i know there r a ton of them who are incredibly uncomfortable by jaspis & i'm restating that it used to trigger me, & they have every right to not like or want to interact with shippers. i just wanted 2 say my experience (7/9)
it's incredibly unrealistic to say that ALL abuse survivors must be okay with or must hate a ship. we all have different experiences and it's unfair to group us all together like that. (8/9)
but if ur not an abuse survivor and are against jaspis please keep in mind who the community is primarily made of (9/9
