made it a family ritual to head to the Resistance landmark in Mleeta every July in remembrance of the 2006 war and it was extremely foggy this year

Khaybar 1
One of the surprises of the 2006 war which the Resistance used to target enemy position centers in Afoula, 15 km from Haifa, and Khedeyra, 75 km from the Lebanese border. This step came in response to the israeli air forces targeting civilians throughout Lebanon.

The Pathway
A 650 meter trail with several displays of Resistance weapons and mock operations. The trail is marked with fences and has stairs built to make walking easier, but the land was very steep, rocky, and bumpy when the Resistance fighters lived here.

inside the tunnel that was dug by Resistance fighters and acted as a military base for ~7000 soldiers: The tunnel contains several rooms and was equipped with water, electricity, ventilation, and more.

Out of the tunnel, you are met with a balcony overlooking the entire region of Iqleem at-Tuffah.

There's plenty more to see in Mleeta. This place holds so much spirituality and sacredness and will certainly leave its mark on you.
