because SocDems are always insecure about people to the left of them. I mean, what exactly is Amber Frost good at? She has the most mediocre takes on most stuff and can’t go 54 words without using the words ‘cancel culture’ and she thinks she knows enough to mock @prisonculture
and accuse them of not having any answers? Even the best of that part of the left, like @tmbsfm, have on ya few good episodes. @_michaelbrooks, for example, keeps bringing up the most inane shit as arguments against abolition or any sort of radical change
as if people like Angela Davis weren’t capable of thinking those simple thoughts in all these decades. He talks about how we should never attempt to change people’s bigoted beliefs because “leftists need to be concerned only with “structural issues”
when irl these issues are also a function of individual beliefs held by majorities or people with social capital. People like @sunraysunray + him talk about how leftists’ only goal is to get rid of capitalism, not markets, not knowing the amount of violence, both physical and
mental, which working people were put through just to introduce markets into feudal societies. These are not natural ways of organising society. There was a lot of violence and coercion involved in introducing these systems into human society.

Another thing they keep doing is, they cite public opinion polls to justify their mediocre, moderate politics, but if you’re a leftist that’s precisely the opposite of what we should be doing. We need to be pushing what’s considered doable and
creating space for people to be as radical as they can be, not looking at polls and trying to form our worldview based on that. I mean, Bernie’s done more to change public opinion and to make people realise they deserve more than Chapo will in their lifetimes.
Change happens when a sizeable minority keeps screaming about what’s right and what’s wrong, not when fucking opinion polls are at the right number and in your favour.
