In response to a fresh bloom of left-Labour Corbyn fans making noise on Twitter, could I give you my Joe Pasquale metaphor?

Here goes:
There is a reason Morgan Freeman is cast in the role of God, and Joe Pasquale isn't.

You don't need me to explain it. I can't explain it! God doesn't exist, and if he does nobody knows what he sounds like.

But we all know it's more like Morgan Freeman than Joe Pasquale.
This doesn't make Joe Pasquale a bad person. Just wrong in the role.

So when he got the role as God, most of the cast and crew knew it was wrong. Moviegoers are laughed at the idea. Film reviewers tore the movie apart before it hit the cinema.
But half the crew and a few powerful producers were determined to keep Pasquale in the role.

The moviegoing public are actively ridiculed the studio responsible, the trailers were awful, other leading cast members quit, and everyone knew it was gonna be like the Cats movie.
But the idea went to Pasquale's head, his agent and a few supporters kept insisting the public was wrong, and would definitely love Pasquale as The Almighty.

Morgan Freeman quietly offered advice on the role and bided his time.
Now Pasquale is gone, but the damage remains. "From the studio that brought you Joe Pasquale as God" does not help sell tickets, and rather than get behind Morgan Freeman in the future, a few figures still noisily shout that The Critics Were Wrong.
Not only that, they also insist the public love Pasquale, and the only reason the project failed is cos critics reported what the public thought, and some of the producers tried to recast the role before the studio went bankrupt and everyone lost their jobs.
The same crowd now demand we cast Stephen Segal in the role of Albert Einstein, and say casting a good, believable actor in the role is just kowtowing to the MSM.

They will not understand that the lines don't matter if the person saying them isn't believable in the role.
And until this group of people start to realise that movies need viewers (or they're basically expensive vanity projects that everyone laughs at), we ain't never gonna get anywhere.

Joe Pasquale is probably a perfectly nice man. But he ain't God.
