I understand the frustration and disgust people are feeling in regards to Disney world opening today.

This leaves employees of the country's largest single site employer at the mercy of Florida's broken system. Our local economy depends on the theme parks. Without assistance too many will lose their homes, their cars, all while struggling to pay for basic necessities like FOOD.
I understand this isn't the case for every employee. I wish that our governor wasn't a fuckhead. I wish Florida's government wasn't completely borked. I hope the country is JUST AS MAD next month when our schools open at full capacity b/c that'll be 1000x worse than WDW opening.
Disney took their time and opened much later than other theme parks. They've done everything they can to ensure the safety of their cast and guests short of not opening. Redirect your anger to our governor. Federal assistance ENDS in July.
We need to keep government officials that want to protect us in office and out those who don't. @RepDarrenSoto voted to pass the heroes act which would extend federal assistance through January, provide $$ for distance learning, protect home owners and more.
The senate still hasn't voted on this, and it likely won't be passed. As much as Republicans say they protect the every day citizen they DON'T. It's the opposite while they spout propaganda. More info on the heroes act here: https://www.congress.gov/bill/116th-congress/house-bill/6800
Being angry at Disney will do nothing. Be angry at those who control what happens on a much larger scale. Our sights are too narrow and our government needs to take responsibility for putting companies like Disney in this current position.
While you're angry - please educate yourself on Republican propaganda. Look up Lee Atwater, a man who changed the political landscape with tactics meant to manipulate the southern population.
