2/ For too long, only one kind of history has been told. It has not reflected the reality of our country, the truths that need to be unearthed, remembered, and shouted from the rooftops. Without knowing our full history, we cannot know ourselves and our country
3/ To be critical of our country; to insist that it do better and that it lives up to its ideals of freedom, democracy, and equality is to me, the most American thing in the whole world.
